One person and more than 200 cases of malaria have died in Khoradar camp for displaced persons

North Upper Nile – 27 July 2018 – The authorities at the Khoradar camp for displaced people in Khor Adar province in northern Upper Nile state in southern Sudan reported the spread of malaria among the displaced last week.

James Mansoor Dow, head of the displaced camp in Khor Adar, said on Friday that the health conditions in the camp were very poor, revealing the spread of malaria and the death of one person due to the disease on Sunday.

He added that the hospital recorded about 214 cases of malaria, 157 of whom are still receiving treatment and 57 patients who were discharged from hospital after receiving treatment.
