Umbrella parties call on the Sudanese government to release Peter Byar from Juba prison.

Khartoum, 3 August 2018 – Sudanese parliaments have called for mediation in order to release the activist Vetter Pierre, who has been detained in the capital Juba recently.

The head of the parachute parties Peter Mian Majungdit said in a statement yesterday, they are demanding the Sudanese mediation to intervene urgently on the case of Peter Bayan, indicating that Pierre was arrested for political reasons.

He pointed out that the agreement provided for the release of all prisoners of war and political prisoners, but what the government of Juba reverse the agreement, accusing the government to practice restrictions and arrests in the context of peace.

The national security service in Juba arrested the youth leader and political analyst Viter Pierre Ajak when he was on his way to the city of Oil on Saturday morning.
