Press statement

Dinka Land Grabbing Project Reaches New Heights in Upper Nile State as the Antipeace Tribal President Kiir Gives Collo (Shilluk) town of Malakal to his Tribal Cousins (Padang Dinka).

Adding to his long list of violations of the peace agreement, the tribal President Kiir on Friday, March 12, 2021, lost his way and announced to the people of South Sudan, through a set up meeting of well-known self-seeking, high-ranking officials, that he is taking Makal/Malakal from its rightful owners, the Collo (Shilluk), and giving it to his tribal cousins (Padang Dinka) in Upper Nile State.  The decision by the Cursed President and his government, is in fulfillment of dreams of some sections of Upper Nile State Dinka, to move out the headquarters of Makal county from Malakal. This is nothing new but execution of Dinka land grabbing project that Kiir has been sponsoring in favor of his tribe ever since became the President of SouthSudan 9 July 2011.  Let there be no mistake, the ultimate goal of this policy, which is being pursued every single day not only in Upper Nile State but also elsewhere in South Sudan, is turning the Republic of South Sudan into a Dinka Republic.

Malakal (Makal), is part and parcel of Collo (Shilluk) ancestral land, as known by all the people of South Sudan and Sudan from which the country separated almost a decade ago. It was founded by the Collo (Shilluk) King Diwad Ocollo Dak. He reigned over the Collo (Shilluk) Kingdom for fifteen (15) years from 1635-1650, long before the arrival of Europeans to Colonize Sudan. Makal/Malakal therefore, has a special place in the hearts and minds of the Collo (Shilluk) people as a royal piece of land.

It is for this reason, and in the interest of the peace agreement and unity of the people of Upper Nile State and, by extension, for the sake of unity of the people of South Sudanese, that the Collo Community leaders in Diaspora strongly object to and condemn this dangerous and antipeace move by the Cursed President Kiir to give Collo (Shilluk) land to his lawless tribal dreamers in Upper Nile State.
