East Darfur – 9 August 2018 – Refugees from southern Sudan in the state of East Darfur held celebrations as soon as the parties to the conflict signed the peace agreement in Khartoum on Sunday evening.

They hoped the Khartoum Accord would end the war in southern Sudan so that they could return to normal areas.

The refugees demanded the government of southern Sudan and the opposition to abide by the provisions of Islam so that peace prevails in the country.
