The National Salvation Front joins the peace talks
President of the South Sudan Opposition Forces (Sawa), consisting of nine anti-government entities, said that the head of the National Salvation Front, General Thomas Serilo Suka, had sent his delegation to join the ongoing peace talks in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
Shankson, who leads the opposition Democratic Federalist Party, said Friday that Sawa had held meetings with General Thomas Serillo and General Khaled Boutros to resolve internal differences in the Salvation Front, saying they expected the initiative to succeed. Shankson confirmed that the National Salvation group had joined the peace talks after refusing to sign the peace agreement recently.
Shankson called on General Thomas Serlio to attend the final signing of the peace agreement if agreement was reached on all outstanding issues.
