After the presentation of his comments late. The postponement of the initial signature of the agreement of south Sudan
The Sudanese mediation, for the second time in two days, postponed the deadline for the initial signing of the final draft of the agreement for the peace of southern Sudan after the opposition faction led by Riek Machar submitted its comments on the draft final agreement.
Foreign Minister Dardari Mohammad Ahmed said in a press statement at the Higher Security Academy on Sunday evening that the negotiations were extended for an additional three days from August 25 to 27, and revealed a three-day security arrangements workshop with representatives of Sudan Uganda, the United Nations and the African Union.
After several clarifications he made with the opposition parties, Dardiri said that they are currently discussing sub-issues and not original ones, especially since the agreement is huge and needs to be reviewed for a while.
Dardari said that if the parties agreed to the new comments submitted, there would be no problem, but in case of disagreement, the reference and the final statement will be what was signed in the Convention.
The parties made their comments on the agreement at dawn on Sunday, but opposition leader Reak Machar presented his remarks at 6 pm.
Mashar, who is the first deputy in the government of Southern Sudan, believes that he should supervise the peace agreement, as stipulated in the South African Peace Agreement 2015 signed in Addis Ababa, while the rest of the four deputies of President Salva Kiir Mayardit see the need for their participation.
